Acceptable Use Policy

What you may and may not send through Automate - the rules that keep the channel working for everyone on it.

Last updated 17 August 2026

This policy defines what may be sent through Automate. It exists because every account runs on its own dedicated infrastructure and under your own business identity - abuse harms your recipients first, and your sender reputation immediately after. Breaching this policy is grounds for immediate termination without refund.

Consent is required

You may only message people who have given you consent to contact them on the channel you are using. In practice that means:

  • The recipient opted in knowingly, and you can evidence when and how.
  • The opt-in covers the kind of message you are sending.
  • Every message makes clear who is sending it.
  • Opt-out requests are honoured promptly and permanently.

Prohibited outright

  • Purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested lists. No exceptions, regardless of how the list is described by whoever sold it.
  • Ignoring opt-outs, or moving an opted-out contact to another list or line to keep messaging them.
  • Bypassing platform limits - rate-limit evasion, ban evasion, or rotating numbers to escape enforcement.
  • Misrepresentation - impersonating another business or person, spoofing sender identity, or disguising the commercial nature of a message.
  • Fraud and deception - phishing, credential harvesting, fake offers, investment or crypto solicitations, pyramid and MLM recruitment.
  • Illegal or restricted goods where you lack the licences to promote them, including controlled substances, weapons, and prescription pharmaceuticals.
  • Harmful content - harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or malware distribution.

Sending conduct

  • Quiet hours are enforced by default (10 PM to 8 AM). Do not attempt to circumvent them.
  • Use send pacing as designed. The rate ceilings exist to protect your deliverability, not to inconvenience you.
  • Personalize to make messages relevant, not to disguise a bulk send as something it is not.
  • Keep campaign volume proportionate to the size and freshness of your opted-in list.

Reporting and enforcement

Report suspected abuse to mail@automatemessage.com. We investigate every report.

Depending on severity we may warn you, pause your campaigns, suspend your instance, or terminate your account. We terminate immediately and without refund for purchased or scraped lists, fraud, and deliberate platform evasion. Where we can, we will contact you first and give you a chance to put it right.

A note on what we cannot do

Following this policy substantially reduces the risk of platform enforcement. It does not eliminate it, and we will not pretend otherwise - no provider can guarantee immunity from a third-party platform's decisions. What we can commit to is that Automate never bypasses rate limits and never encourages you to.
